Hospice / Euthanasia
Unfortunately, time with our pets is not unlimited, no matter how well they are cared for. Having a terminally ill pet is never easy. When all treatment options have been exhausted, our goal at Village Veterinary Hospital is to provide hospice care that focuses on improving the quality of life, making the patient comfortable and pain free while giving the family time with their beloved pet before saying goodbye.
We help animals experience terminal illness and the dying process with dignity. While it is never easy to say goodbye to your faithful companion, we do everything we can to make the process of euthanasia as peaceful as can be.
When you bring your animal in for euthanasia services, we give you time with your pet, explain the procedure and what you can expect to happen so that you are prepared. The procedure is painless and induces pets to drift off into a peaceful and permanent sleep.
Afterwards, we can assist in the handling of your pet’s remains by returning your pet to you for burial, or we can recommend a local source for those clients who wish to pursue cremation for their pet’s remains. For more information, please inquire at our front desk.
Before you struggle through one more day with a sick, elderly, or terminally ill pet that is suffering, call us at Village Veterinary Hospital to learn how we can help you through this difficult time.
