Ultrasound
Village Veterinary Hospital is equipped with an extensive array of diagnostic tools that enable us to provide a higher level of care to our patients. Included in our range of medical diagnostics is ultrasound. While x-rays provide us with good images of bone, an ultrasound is the best way to identify problems with internal organs and soft tissue.
Ultrasound is an extremely useful, non-invasive diagnostic instrument that produces clear, easy to read images that are more detailed than an x-ray. The ultrasound allows our experienced veterinarian to visualize the internal organs and other structures inside the body and help find any abnormalities that cannot be seen or felt during a physical examination. It is used most often to diagnose bladder and kidney stones, discover abdominal masses, to aid in the assessment of organ function, to diagnose cardiac problems, and to evaluate pregnancies.
Providing this service in-house enables us to get you immediate results and provide treatment without delays caused by referring patients out to other hospitals. Pets are always sedated for this procedure making it a stress-free experience for them.
Serving pet owners in Folsom, Covington, Loranger, Husser, Amite, and other nearby communities, Village Veterinary Hospital is here when you need us to diagnose your pet’s condition.
