In-Clinic Diagnostics
Village Veterinary Hospital’s in-house diagnostics laboratory, digital radiography, and ultrasound capabilities provide pet owners with an efficient diagnosing process for their pets all under one roof. We can process many test results on site while pet parents wait. This is especially beneficial for critical illness and injury cases that need prompt diagnosis and treatment.
Our IDEXX in-house diagnostic suite enables us to perform a variety of tests that help identify your pet’s condition quickly and accurately. Some of the tests that we conduct include blood chemistry panels, complete blood counts, electrolytes, urinalysis, heartworm and feline leukemia/immune deficiency viral tests, fecal exams, pancreatitis screening, stool occult blood, and parvo viral testing, and thyroid testing for senior pets. These tests can help us determine if your pet has underlying issues such decreased organ functionality, anemia, thyroid issues, and certain types of cancer.
Some health conditions may not be obvious during an external examination. For this reason, we recommend blood work at your pet’s annual check-up to provide a consistent record of your pet’s health history. Should any significant changes show up in the test results, we would be able to identify potential health issues before they become a major issue. We also conduct blood work screenings for pets who are scheduled for surgery to ensure there are no underlying issues that might cause complications.
Village Veterinary Hospital provides diagnostic services for pets in Folsom, Covington, Loranger, Husser, Amite, and surrounding areas.
